#BeMyGuest Blog by Karima-Catherine Goundiam

We are delighted to host our latest #BeMyGuest blog Why Facebook should quickly improve its Business Pages by Karima-Catherine Goundiam, a “citizen of the world” based in Montreal, Canada who advises businesses on how to integrate social media in their overall business strategy.  We connected with K-C through Twitter thanks to the Like Minds conference in February 2010 and have discovered a shared view on the role social media plays in business. We aim to swap blog posts between our two businesses on a regular basis to provide a transatlantic viewpoint on all aspects of marketing and business.

It is great to see that your business has evolved to the point where you need to stack things differently on Facebook but my experience in the UK is that most businesses are struggling with the idea of social media/integration into their organisation and I am not sure, at the moment, that I would invite them to start with Facebook (as good as I think it is). I am also concerned that too many businesses are being driven down the path of looking at the platforms without spending time considering the objectives and strategy as to how SM can integrate across the business.

    Best wishes
    Julian
